Shipping FAQs

At Vicaviary, we handle all flight/shipping arrangements for our customers. All you need to do is pick up your bird at your nearest airport with a valid ID. It’s simple and safe!

We’ll coordinate flight details with you a few days before the bird is shipped (weather permitting). On the day of shipping, we’ll drop off the bird at our airport, and you’ll pick them up at your nearest major airport. You will receive the airline, flight number(s), air waybill number, and flight arrival time before the departure. Direct flights typically take 3–6 hours, depending on your state. For more details, please refer to our “Terms and Conditions” page.

Is Shipping Safe for the Birds?

Absolutely! Our pet carriers are specially designed to ensure your bird’s comfort and safety during the flight. We include food, water, and soft bedding inside the carrier to make the journey as stress-free as possible. Additionally, we train our birds to spend short periods in pet carriers daily to ensure they are familiar and comfortable during their travel.

How Much Does Shipping Cost?

Shipping costs start at $180 and may vary depending on your location. The airline-approved shipping crate is an additional $55–$120.

What Is Included with the Shipping Carrier?

  • Extra food (pellets/seeds mix) in a ziplock bag, enough to last a few days.
  • Disease testing lab report
  • The bird’s hatch certificate

Does the Price of a Bird Include Shipping or any Testing?

No, the listed prices on our website do not include shipping or DNA/Disease tests. (DNA, Polyoma, and PBFD tests will cost 45$ all together)

Do Birds Come with a Health Guarantee?

Yes, all weaned birds come with a 7-day health guarantee. During this period, you can take the bird to an avian veterinarian. If the vet determines the bird is unfit for sale, documentation must be provided to Vicaviary within 24 hours of the exam for an exchange or full refund of the bird.

All our birds (weaned and un-weaned) are tested negative for Polyomavirus (PVD) and Psittacine Beak, and Feather Disease (PBFD). We provide disease-testing paperwork with every bird we sell.

Do You Guarantee Shipping? What Is the Return Policy?

Yes, we guarantee safe delivery of all birds to your specified airport. All sales are final upon shipping, and birds cannot be returned.

In the rare event of a bird’s death during delivery, we require notification within 24 hours of arrival at the designated delivery point. Immediate inspection is necessary to confirm the condition. We will replace the bird or issue a one-time refund for the bird’s cost (shipping fees are non-refundable). Rest assured, we have never encountered such an issue.

What should I do when I bring my bird home?

When you bring your bird home, place them in their cage and allow them time to adjust to their new surroundings. Make sure to provide water, fruits/veggies, and pellets/seed mix as soon as you get home to help them feel comfortable.

As much as you may want to interact with them or show them off, they need a peaceful day to settle in.
